eBiz Global Corp offers eSourcing solutions to enable reverse auctions. Reverse auction is a tool used by many manufacturers, supply management and logistics management organisations.
In a reverse auction, the purchasing company puts out bidding lots with details of the product wanted, quantity, ceiling price and supply schedule. All registered vendors will be informed by the system automatically on the time slot allotted for bidding. The bidding process is completely transparent and the vendors can see the lowest price, and bid accordingly. On close of bidding time, the purchaser is given an option to choose any or all of the lowest three vendors to choose from, for supply of goods.
eSourcing takes care of the complete procurement lifecycle, including product quality testing before acceptance. The main activities include posting bids, monitoring live bid responses, closing successful bids, generating purchase orders to successful bidders, scheduling supplies, receipt of goods, quality testing and lab reporting, supply quantity reconciliation, management of debit/credit notes and invoices based on quality parameters (that is linked to ERP), etc.

The Customer
The client, a leading poultry company in India with sales exceeding US $ 350 Million and started in 1984, has been steadily increasing its global presence. The client's pioneering efforts in Contract Farming have helped thousands of farmers to grow along with the company.
The Challenge
The client was using a manual sourcing system, which was labor-intensive, time consuming and clearly inefficient. The client’s annual purchases exceed USD 250 million. Also, the client had a limited set of suppliers leading to procurement prices that weren't very competitive. The client also had an ERP legacy system that is used to debit/credit notes, lab reports, and so on. The challenge for eBiz was to come up with a web-based Sourcing solution that seamlessly ties in with the existing ERP system to provide an efficient purchasing solution.
The Solution
eBiz Global created a web-based system for the client, which allows registered vendors to bid for the lowest price of supply of materials that are to be bought periodically. After a bid is successfully completed, purchase orders are generated by the system and the appropriate vendors are automatically notified. The system allows for short term bids and long term contracts for multiple products simultaneously. eSourcing also pushes to web relevant lab reports, debit/credit notes, rejection advices, payment details, etc. from client’s ERP.
